On Tuesday 26th June the whole school took part in Leap for the Library day to raise funds towards our new library project. Children were sponsored for how many bounces they could do on the bouncy castles in a minute and we have raised around £1500! Thank you to the Friends for arranging this event which was enjoyed by all.

News from Whitwell 2017
A quick update on Class 3’s first day at Whitwell yesterday – A fantastic afternoon of shelter building followed by a delicious tea, toasted marshmallows over the campfire and hot chocolate before bed.
Day 2. Boat building and pottery this morning.
Thank you to all of the adults who joined in with the fantastic reading activities run across the whole school this morning. Your feedback has been very positive and we will certainly be holding further events next term. In the meantime we have a Talk Homework session this Friday at 2.45pm, in the hall. All Class teachers will be discussing ways in which you can help your child to be brilliant Big Writers, from Year 1 to Year 6. Please come along. On Thursday 24th November Mrs Minns will be covering Maths Calculations, also from Year 1 to Year 6. Parents have found this event very useful in the past as it demonstrates how we teach maths today and the ways in which you can support your children at home.
Welcome to the new school year
A very warm welcome to the start of the new school year. The children have made a great start in their classes and it is going to be a very busy term. I was very pleased to meet so many parents in the first week and look forward to getting to know you and your children.
