Norfolk Virtual School Games – Autumn Term 2020
Whilst the country has been on lock down all pupils have missed out on the opportunity to take part in PE lessons and school sports events. To help address this The Norfolk School Games team have designed a range of COVID safe Norfolk School Games virtual competitions for schools to take part in during the Autumn Term. Rather than focus on individual pupils sporting abilities the competitions reward whole classes for working together to achieve their best overall score.
We are all very busy in PE currently taking part in three of the virtual challenges across Pathfinders, Adventurers and Navigators classes.
Cross Country – A great way to make use of our wonderful track.
Sportshall Athletics (KS2 only) – Running, jumping and throwing activities.
Tri-Golf – Everyone is enjoying trying out this new skill just as the Masters golf competition is being played in the USA.
While we are taking part in the activities all the Navigators are also completing their Competition Leadership Passport by working as an equipment manager, coach, score keeper and event organiser. They are doing a great job! Well done.
All our event scores are being submitted to Norfolk School Games and this has been a great way to enjoy some competition in PE lessons and have some fun outside even when the weather is getting colder. It has been wonderful watching everyone challenge themselves and persevere with all the new activities.
Well done everyone.
