During this time of school closure, I thought I would share with you some more examples of the fantastic work Class Four have been doing during the Spring Term.
In English, we have been looking at Secrets of a Sun King by Emma Carroll. Here is a link to Emma talking about her story and making reading recommendations (for both children and adults!) as part of Waterstones’ ‘Shelfie’ series.
As Emma says in her plot summary, an object is taken (by mistake) and unleashes a curse which can only be broken by returning the item to Egypt. Inspired by this, we hosted a class debate where children argued whether or not Egyptian artefacts should be returned to Egypt or kept in museums across the world.
We thought about the pros and cons, having a class discussion and thinking about both sides of the argument:
