I am a community governor and a volunteer at Scole Primary School.   I have lived in Scole for the last ten years and have become very involved with local activities including the tennis club and the Discord Choir and am also the secretary of the local French twinning group.   I have now retired but during my working life I worked for private industry as an Export Sales and Project Coordinator for a local business who manufactured high quality internal stables for the thoroughbred horse racing industry.  In this capacity, I was responsible for the development of overseas sales and the management of very large scale projects in the Far East and Middle East.  In a later role I worked for a local vehicle franchise, developing and managing their export sales.

I have a continuing interest in education, having recently completed eight years of part-time study with the Open University, graduating with a BA Honours degree in Modern Languages.   I get real satisfaction in volunteering at the school and seeing the children grow and develop their reading skills.   Because of my interest in continuing education and being part of the local community, I feel that I have a positive role to play as a school governor.
