Charlie Hillman

Charlie Hillman – Parent Governor and PCL committee member:

I joined the governing body in January 2017. I am a serving member in HM Forces, currently stationed at Wattisham Airfield as the senior helicopter instructor at 4 Regiment Army Air Corps. As such I have completed qualifications in ‘learning in the lifelong sector’ and have a broad understanding of education, albeit aimed at adults.

In the Army, I have served in several Operational Theatres, with roles ranging from pilot to Squadron Commander. In the latter I oversaw the final withdrawal of UK Apache Helicopters from Afghanistan. These roles have always been a mix of ‘proper planning and preparation’, and ‘fire-fighting’ the next crisis. Hopefully these experiences will allow me to serve the children of Scole School well.

I love the small community feel of Scole and am keen to work with the Staff and Governors to provide the children with the best opportunities to not only succeed with the curriculum, but to gain as many experiences as possible along the way.
