Yes, despite bridges falling off, strings snapping and a rather unfortunate breakage, class 4 are indeed making great progress with their violin playing. Not only can everyone now recognise and play the four open strings ( that means playing the string without putting your fingers on it), they can now also play 2 additional notes : e and f sharp.

There was much excitement when I put stickers on the fingerboards and despite the usual problem of violins going out of tune, the children had a great time. 

I am really impressed with how quickly they have picked up sight reading basic notes and I know they cannot wait to show you all how well they have been getting on in sharing assembly after half term ( exact date to be decided).

If you haven’t heard your child playing at home recently, please remind them about their weekly homework as you can imagine the difference it makes when someone hasn’t picked up their violin in a week!
