Class 2 Home Learning

Monday 20th July

Hello Class Two,

I hope you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine.

I just wanted to say well done to all of you for your hard work during Lockdown. I’ve loved looking through the work that has been returned to me at school, you have worked incredibly hard and produced some great work!

I know it’s been a very strange time for you and you will have missed being in school with your friends, (Mrs Smith and I have certainly missed seeing all of you every day) but I’m so proud of you for being resilient and for continuing with your learning at home.

It will be great to see each and every one of you back at school in September and we will all be working together to get back to a different sort of ‘normal’ as we start our new school year. I’m sure the Year 2s will make amazing Year 3s and Mr Silcocks and Mrs Dunning are very lucky to be getting you in their class. Mrs Smith and I are looking forward to the Year 1s blossoming into brilliant Year 2s in September and we have lots of fun learning for you to do too!

Finally I would just like to say a heart felt thank you to all of the parents. Your enthusiasm and diligence in teaching your child(ren) at home, in what has been an incredibly difficult and worrying time, has been admirable and I think some of you might have discovered a new vocation! I hope you will have a lovely summer  holiday and find some time to rest and relax before we return to school and the new routines in September.

Have a great summer everyone and we’ll see you all soon!

Best wishes,

Mrs Tisbury

PE Home Learning Update 29.6.20

Hello everyone

You will have now received your new PE Home Learning Packs which are full of a mixture of activities to do, but also have a new Exercise log for you to record your activity levels for a week and a design a football strip, to celebrate the return of football!

With the summer holidays fast approaching, I am aware that we haven’t been able to talk to you all, either during swimming sessions or at school, about knowing how you can enjoy the water and stay safe. Whether by sea, river or lake, the skills involved in keeping safe whilst swimming outdoors are very different to those of an indoor pool, where most swimming lessons take place, so I have included two “Spot the Dangers” sheets with answers. Please take some time to look at them with an adult and talk about how to keep safe if you are near water or enjoying the beach over the summer.

This is the last PE Home Learning pack before the summer holidays so I have also included a blank August Activity tracker sheet which I hope you will fill in with activities over the summer.

You can access my new letter and the blank August Activity Tracker information here –

Home Learning Letter – Home Learning Letter 4

Exercise Log – Exercise log

Blank August Activity tracker – August 2020 – Blank activity sheet

I hope you all have a great, active summer holidays and keep safe. I will look forward to seeing you all in September.

Remember to give me a wave if you see me walking around the village!

Take care & keep active everyone.

Monday 1st June

Hello on this rainy Monday morning!

This week’s English and creative activities are based around the Gruffalo story so here is the link for you to watch it on BBC iplayer – The Gruffalo.

The maths work continues on from the activities you were doing last week as do the geography, history and RE activities.

I have finally managed to get the picture gallery of creations working on our Class Two’s page, so please do have a look on there and keep your pictures coming.

It was lovely to speak to some of you on the telephone last week and I will be calling some more of you over the coming weeks, but please do email the office if you need any support with anything and I will call you as soon as I can.

This week I will also be finishing the next Home Learning pack ready for you to collect on Monday 15th and would love it if you could return your infinity puzzle piece when you collect your pack. I will leave a tray on the table outside for the puzzle pieces so that they can be ‘quarantined’ before I display them in school.

Thank you all for your continued support and hard work,

Dear Parents,

As you may have heard, the Government have launched the Oak National Academy to support teachers and families with on-line learning for our pupils. The teachers at Scole Primary will be using this resource to support the planning that they have already established, where appropriate. Mrs Vosper has asked if you would ‘Please be guided by your child’s teacher in the learning activities that you do at home to ensure that they make progress in line with the school’s curriculum.’

I haven’t included any lessons from the Oak Academy at this time as I feel that I have given the children plenty of resources to use for the next few weeks. It may be something I refer to in the future if the lock-down continues, but I have added the link below if you would like to explore the website. If you have any questions or queries about the work/activities etc please email the school office and I will do my best to get back to you.

Thank you,

Mrs Tisbury

Hello Class Two,

I hope you all had a great Easter holiday and have been enjoying the lovely weather. Mrs Smith and I are really missing you all, but we have been busy thinking of lots of activities that you can be doing while you are at home.

Your new learning packs are all ready to be collected tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd April) and we have included a mixture of activities for you to choose. Please make sure you do some reading every day as well as the activities on the grid and the sheets in your pack. I’m sure you have read all of your school books by now and probably lots of your own books! If you would like to read some books online you can go onto the Oxford Owl website and choose books from your reading band (I’ve added the website link in the list below). There is also a list of lots of useful websites that your parents can help you explore in your home learning pack.

I’ve spoken to most of you and your parents on the telephone and I know you are all doing your school work and having lots of fun too, which is fantastic!

Keep up the good work and keep well and safe!

Love from

Mrs Tisbury and Mrs Smith
